Commencing with a Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment and completed via mitigation design with a comprehensive landscape scheme, planning permission was successfully secured for this multi-faith, privately owned cemetery, which is now open.

Primarily serving the West Midlands, the landscaped 26 acre site is formed from former paddock land on the outskirts of Wolverhampton and comprises a multi-faith contemporary chapel, columbaria, reflection pool, car parking and associated landscape features.

The mitigation strategy informed by the LVIA included native tree planting to enhance boundary and street scene reflecting local landscape character areas and to filter views, use of ornamental herbaceous, tree and hedgerow planting to soften the architecture of the chapel building, hard landscape elements and car parking, and the reinforcement of existing boundary vegetation creating a landscape buffer and reducing the overall visual impact of the development.
