Open Spaces was appointed by Bouygues UK Ltd as Landscape Architects, Ecologists and Tree Consultants to steer this £168 million development scheme for new campus accommodation consisting of 1,262 student bedrooms, through RIBA Stages 0-7.

Designed to meet BREEAM 2018 ‘Very Good’ Requirements, this BIM Level 2 Compliant project aims to centralise services and create a sense of place and community through the creation of a ‘social’ landscape.

Open Spaces collaborated with other consultants across a range of disciplines to create a Federated Building Information Model (BIM), as well as uploading and updating a range of design and construction drawings and details to numerous platforms including BIM360, Revizto and Viewpoint for Projects.

The completed scheme will include a substantial courtyard style hub defined by semi-mature tree planting and legible hard landscape features, defensive and ornamental planting referencing the national postcode plant database to support on-site ecology, together with a substantial ‘dark ecological corridor’.
